Printing Specifications for CKLA Materials

Middle school classroom

Printing specifications are an important aspect of planning and executing print publications. However, each print vendor's capabilities, and thus specifications, are dependent on a variety of factors including suppliers, equipment, and experience.

These high-level specifications are provided to assist you with cost-benefit considerations as you determine detailed specifications based on your particular needs and available funds. The table provides details on page sizes, paper types, colors, and intended use of each component. Components labeled as non consumable are intended to be used year after year. Components labeled consumable are consumed (written on, folded, or cut) during the course of instruction and must be replaced each year.

More detailed specifications for exact paper weights, paper finishes, and bindings vary from vendor to vendor and may be adjusted to balance desired quality, durability, and cost of the materials.
