At the end of Unit 4, students will be introduced to the first decodable book presented as this Big Book entitled "Pet Fun". After watching and listening to demonstration readings of this book by the teacher, students will be given an opportunity to read the short phrases that make up the story. The story is simple because this book is written with decodable text. Reading this book will be exciting for students as it represents their very first effort at reading connected text.
