Expressions and Equations: Crafting Teaching Sequences for Extended Interventions
Time: 4 Hours
Description: Participants experience guided practice to analyze student work, then work in grade-level groups to analyze students errors and develop a teaching sequence for intervention. As an outcome of this session, teachers will be able to identify specific gaps in student knowledge, develop questions (short term sequence) to quickly address superficial misunderstanding, and craft a teaching sequence for extended intervention if needed.
NOTE: This session utilizes the same protocol as the October 2014 NTI session on The Number System, this time applied to Expressions and Equations.
