July 2014 NTI: Setting Performance Standards

The performance standards for the Common Core Regents Exams in Algebra I and English Language Arts were established through a research-based standard setting process. Panels composed of NYS educators recommended passing standards for each of the five performance levels on the Common Core Regents Exams by matching the knowledge, skills and proficiencies described in the Common Core Learning Standards with items on the Common Core Regents Exams.

This session provides historical data to set context, information on the development of the Common Core Regents Exams, an overview of the standard setting process, and the results of the standard setting process.
